30th anniversary conference and AGM

Date: 3-4 September 2010

Venue: University of Nottingham's Jubilee Campus, plus site tours of local community gardens and farms

FCFCG celebrates its 30th birthday in 2010. To mark the occasion we are celebrating community farming and gardening in the UK with a series of events, starting with a national celebration event in Nottingham. Come along and celebrate the community farming and gardening movement and your Federation's three decades of achievement - we would love to see you there!

Event timetable:

Friday 3 September

  • 10.00 Conference Session: Community farms and gardens – our past, present and future. The conference also includes the launch of our oral history project to record FCFCG heritage. Nottingham University's Jubilee Campus.
  • 16.00 Visit to FCFCG 30th Anniversary garden plot, Nottingham Castle
  • 17.00 Civic reception at the Council House, hosted by the Lord Mayor
  • 19.30 Evening buffet and Ceilidh

Saturday 4 September

  • 10.00 Cycle or coach tours of Nottingham’s community farm and gardens (includes onsite workshops)
  • 13.00 Lunch and FCFCG AGM at Ecoworks straw bale building
  • 14.45 Close

Venue Information: The conference venue takes place at the University of Nottingham's Jubilee Campus, Wollaton Road
Nottingham NG8 1BB. The main entrance is on Wollaton Road. Maps and directions are available from the University of Nottingham website

The campus is two miles from the city's main railway station and there is a cycle route alongside the canal, through some residential streets and on to National Route Six. For a map of the route, visit the Sustrans website.
